Introduction

Sciencetech’s line of SciSun solar simulators is easy to use, economically priced, and technically excellent. The SciSun line is designed to provide an affordable solution for researchers who need a relatively small field of illumination. They can produce an irradiance of up to 2 Suns and feature Class AAA specifications. The SciSun series offers a flexible output orientation that can be adapted to various requirements. The standard configuration is downward-facing, but a horizontal output can be easily achieved.

Configurable Options

The SciSun system can be tailored to meet specific user requirements.

The following features can be selected to optimize the SciSun for your application (please refer to the brochure for comprehensive details):

• Air Mass Filter: The system includes AM1.5G spectral matching. For AM0 matching, please consult the AM0 SciSun product. Additional filtering options are available; please reach out for further information.
• Lamp: The 300 W lamp provides a maximum intensity of 2 Suns, while the 150 W lamp offers a maximum intensity of 1 Sun.
• Power Supply: Users can choose between a fully-featured, adjustable touchscreen-controlled power supply (CE compliant) or a basic, manually-operated power supply (not CE compliant).
• Beam Turner: All models come standard with a 360-degree adjustable beam turner.
• Stand: Three optional stand configurations are available: a simple, cost-effective height-adjustable stand for downward-facing applications (to be used with a beam turner), a workstation with an adjustable sample tray, and a workstation featuring an adjustable sample tray within a dark chamber. If a stand is not ordered, the system can be placed directly on a tabletop, allowing the beam to be adjusted to the desired direction using the beam turner.
• Shutter: An economical manual shutter option is available, while a motorized shutter can be provided as an optional upgrade for those requiring computer control. To operate the motorized shutter from the power supply, the touchscreen power supply option is necessary.
• Attenuation: Optional manual or motorized variable attenuators can be added. If no variable attenuator is selected, the 300 W SciSun will include a removable neutral density filter for 1 Sun operation.

This system is supplied with one IEC 60320 C13 compatible power cable. A region-specific version must be chosen at the time of order (refer to product 491-9001). Additionally, the package includes a xenon arc lamp, filter holder, and testing report.
