Overview

The OVA 5100 is a highly adaptable and efficient device designed for the thorough characterization of fiber components. It can accurately analyze a diverse array of fiber elements, including couplers, specialty fibers, Fiber Bragg Gratings, arrayed waveguide gratings, free-space filters, tunable devices, and amplifiers, among others. With a single sweep of its tunable laser, the OVA 5100 delivers a complete and detailed characterization of these components. The device employs an interferometric method that allows for the direct measurement of the linear transfer function, also referred to as the Jones Matrix. This measurement technique facilitates the extraction of all standard linear parameters with remarkable precision.

Comprehensive Characterisation with a Single Instrument

The OVA 5100 is the industry’s only instrument that measures the complete spectral and time delay response of optical components with a single connection and with a single high-speed measurement scan. The OVA 5100 simplifies your test setup and reduces your test time by integrating the the functionality of several optical instruments and components in a single instrument.

OVA 5100 – A New Enclosure and Name for the OVA 5000

The Luna OVA 5100 is essentially a smaller version of the OVA 5000, with some internal updates to improve manufacturability and long-term supportability. Functionally, the OVA 5100/5113 system is a drop-in replacement for the OVA 5000/5013, offering equivalent features, specifications, functionality, and software. All options available for the OVA 5000/5013 are also available for the OVA 5100/5113, with no change in part numbers. The only differences that may affect system integration into customers' applications are the reduced physical dimensions and weight of the OVA 5100/5113.

Support for the OVA 5000 and OVA 5013

The OVA 5000 and OVA 5013 models have transitioned into Maintenance Mode. Luna will continue to provide full support, service, and honor product warranties for these systems.
