The Optical Link Mapper (OLM) is a fundamental feature of all FTB Lite OTDRs. OLM automatically interprets OTDR traces, providing an intuitive icon-based representation of link elements, including:
This Optical Test Drive (OTDR) features a Swap-Out connector that can be easily replaced as needed, without sending the test unit to a service centre. This ensures optimal performance over time, minimising maintenance costs and downtime. The OTDR’s optical connector health can be monitored using an onboard diagnostic tool, allowing for connector replacement only when necessary.
The calibration date remains valid even after swapping the connector, eliminating the need for premature calibration of the unit.
Being able to replace a damaged OTDR connector, such as one caused by connecting a UPC cable to the APC port on your device, without causing is a huge advantage. With EXFO models featuring the Swap-Out connector functionality, you can instantly check connector health and replace the connector within seconds, directly from the field.
