AusOptic have the pleasure of bringing to Australia a selection international visitors, each presenting in highly specialised areas of photonics, representing the equipment manufacturers who play a major part in supplying and supporting the research and manufacturing sectors.
Internationally acknowledged experts in their respective fields, our presenters will be onsite with A$500,000 of industry equipment, demonstrating the application of new photonics technologies, and providing you with opportunity to get hands on the equipment.
Hosted at AusOptic International's facility in Lane Cove, NSW, on the 22nd of May 2014, with sessions running between 9:30am – 3:30pm.

1. Recent developments in physical layer test of optical telecommunication networks

Presented by Mr D. Otzen from JDSU. The MTS 8000, MTS 6000 configured for PMD, CD, OTDR, AP and MAP 200 with -80dB Return loss Meter and extended C Band High resolution OSA modules will be set up in the workshops.
 
 
 
 

2. PM, large diameter and speciality fibers

Presented by Mr T. Uchida from Furukawa Electric Co. In the workshops the S184 PM splicer will be demonstrating large diameter splicing and “automated splicing profile development”.
 
 
 
   
 
 

3. Opto-mechanical components, and Customized optical systems

Presented by Mr M. Toyoda from Sigma Koki. On display, “OSMS 2 axes Goniometer Centring High accuracy Demonstration Unit” using Sigma Koki motor control systems demonstrating ultrahigh precise control and repeatability, plus a range of lenses and coating, a speciality of Sigma Koki.
 
 
 
 

4. Optical testing at ultrahigh resolutions

Presented by Dr. I. Anikeev from AusOptic International. Demonstrating the Luna OBR 4200 and OBR-5T-50, this are highly specialised test equipment providing ultrahigh optical event resolution, the OBR-5T-50 utilizes swept-wavelength interferometry to measure backscattered light as a function of distance with -125 dB sensitivity and 20 micron spatial resolution.
